We were honored to welcome special guest speakers including Mr. Lester Cromer, Jr. & Mrs. Marilyn Burks who shared heartfelt personal stories about the parents and grandparents who shaped their lives through their words, actions, courage, and perseverance. Their stories reminded us that history lives within our families and communities every single day.
Our NEMS Chorus filled the room with beautiful songs, students led us in the pledge, and meaningful poems were presented to celebrate the strength, resilience, and legacy of Black leaders—past and present.

Through this partnership, students will have increased access to licensed mental health professionals who can provide counseling and support —right here in our school community. This is the last week in February, time is truly flying by and we are enjoying every minute here at NEMS. We have a super busy week. We have dress up days for FFA week. We have Living Legends Night Thursday evening. Please make sure if you have a 6th Grader planning on going on the Sea World trip that all money is turned in 2/27. Rising 7th and 8th graders will be doing registration this week during the last class period of the day.,

Our middle school tennis team did a great job in Valdosta on Thursday. Our boys' team beat Lowndes Middle and Hahira Middle. The boys' team is undefeated this season with a 5-0 record. Kai Folds, our #1 singles player, is undefeated, as is Jett Arant, our #3 singles player. Both of our boys' doubles teams are undefeated as well. Our #1 doubles team members are Charlie Fletcher and Raghav Barman, and for our #2 Boys doubles team members are Will Fresh and JR Wise. Our girls' team has a record of 2-3. Caroline Tucker, who is our #1 girls' singles player, stands undefeated at 5-0.
