🌟 What an adventure! Our 6th Grade Team White 1 students just returned from an exciting visit to VSU's STEAM Lab and Planetarium!
The STEAM Lab transformed our students into real scientists as they touched clouds, explored the water cycle, and stepped into the shoes of weather forecasters! They witnessed tornado simulations, experimented with light refraction, and discovered the science behind thunder and lightning. The seasonal changes exhibit brought our science curriculum to life in vibrant color!
In the planetarium, students were captivated while learning about SARA (The Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy) and exploring the wonders of our universe.
These hands-on experiences make science so meaningful for our young learners! 📚🔬🌎✨

The Emerging Young Leaders group had a fantastic experience at the state capitol in Atlanta. Legislators were in session and the students got to sit in on a couple of different sessions to see how they operate in those different chambers. They even got to see a legislator propose and have his very first bill passed since taking office. As always, the group took a picture with Governor Brian Kemp.
🌟Celebrating Black Excellence at Northeast Middle School! 🌟
Our Black History Month celebration was a resounding success! Our students were 'living legends' who delivered powerful speeches, shared inspirational stories, and the chorus performed beautifully in their coordinated black and white outfits.
The event featured student speakers at the podium sharing important historical contributions. Ms. Regina Rogers delivered a moving reflection on the history of Black History month, while our own Ms. CaMicha Ryce shared her family history and its impact on Tifton, Georgia. The audience was fully engaged as we honored the rich legacy of Black history and culture.
Thank you to all participants, teachers, and faculty who made this celebration meaningful. Events like these help us recognize the countless contributions of Black Americans throughout history while inspiring our students to create their own legacies.

🌟 Our 6th Grade Team White 2 enjoyed an amazing educational adventure at VSU's STEAM Lab and Planetarium! Students engaged with interactive science exhibits where they felt real clouds, experienced the water cycle firsthand, and tried weather forecasting themselves. They were fascinated by tornado simulators, light refraction demonstrations, and learned about weather phenomena and seasonal changes through hands-on activities.
The planetarium portion was equally captivating as students learned about the Asteroid Bennu and learned how NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission brought samples of Bennu back to Earth. This field trip provided our young scientists with an immersive and unforgettable learning experience!📚🔬🌎✨
