KONA ICE IS COMING!
Students in 6th grade NEMS Agriculture had a great hands-on learning experience thanks to classmate Dalyis and her dad, Jacob, who brought in their baby goats to share with the class! 🐐

Dalyis did an awesome job explaining her experience raising animals and teaching us how she cares for them on a daily basis. Students loved getting to see and learn about livestock up close—what a fun and meaningful way to connect classroom learning to real-life agriculture! 🌱

The Georgia Department of Education Parent Satisfaction Survey for Special Education is now open through May 31, 2026, and we would love to hear from our families.

This survey provides an opportunity for parents and guardians to share what is going well and where improvements can be made. Your feedback helps guide decisions at both the district and state levels and strengthens how we support students with disabilities.

Last year, 352 parents participated, and we hope to build on that number this year. Every response truly makes a difference.

As you visit our schools for meetings and events, please take a few minutes to complete the survey. A link has been shared with families of our students with disabilities through email and Infinite Campus.

Thank you for partnering with us to support our students!

Our NEMS Basic Ag students got their hands dirty while learning about soil horizons! 🌱 In this unit, students explored the different layers of soil and what makes each one unique. To bring learning to life, they created their own soil profiles in a jar—carefully layering materials to represent each horizon. They also had the chance to build (and eat!) edible soil horizons, making the lesson both fun and memorable.

Hands-on activities like these help students better understand the world beneath our feet while connecting science to real-life experiences. Great job, students! 👏
