Dr. Cole Webster, from Affinity Pediatrics, was a guest speaker to CTAE Early Childhood level 1 classes about the dangers of drugs and alcohol during pregnancy. Students have been studying this topic during our pregnancy unit. #CTAEDelivers #BTTY #4theT
Mrs. Garrick’s American Literature classes recently read the “Alabama Clergymen’s Letter to MLK” and MLK’s response, “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Students analyzed MLK’s letter for rhetorical strategies and his rebuttal of all claims put forth by the clergymen’s statement.
CTAE extends beyond the classroom to provide students with community connections and service activities. TCHS students in the Criminal Justice Pathway recently visited elementary schools to assist with fingerprinting younger students as part of the Project Safe Kids ID Kit. CTAE Students were able to practice and apply skills they learned in class while providing a service to the community and building relationships with younger students.
