Last May, Mrs. Beth Rehberg, Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Assistive Technology Coordinator, and Dr. Melissa Busbin were awarded $3,000 through the Skoot Dimon Healing Arts Chair Grant from the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence.
Today, we’re thrilled to show what that grant is now making possible. 💙
Using these funds, we have launched a hands-on project to create wireless adaptive toys for students with disabilities across the district. These toys support accessibility, independence, and joyful play, and they are being built right here in our classrooms.
This initiative blends:
🛠️ STEM skills
♿ Assistive technology
💙 Service-based learning
🚀 Real-world engineering with real impact
We are incredibly grateful to the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence and the Skoot Dimon Healing Arts Chair for believing in innovative, student-driven projects that make our schools more accessible for all learners.

🍎 Opportunity Day at TCHS! 🍕
The TCHS Nutrition and Food Science program welcomed 4th grade students from G.O. Bailey Elementary School for an exciting hands-on learning experience!
Guided by our Sports Nutrition students, the elementary students explored MyPlate nutrition, practiced sorting foods into the correct food groups, and then put their new knowledge to work by building their own personal pizzas using a variety of ingredients.
It was a fun and educational day filled with creativity, teamwork, and delicious learning! 🎉 #OpportunityDay #TCHSNutrition #sportsmedicine #myplate #HandsOnLearning #CTAEdelivers #4theT

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Tift County High School has collected over 2,000 canned and non-perishable food items!

All donations are going directly to the JTR Food Pantry located at J.T. Reddick Elementary School. This incredible haul is going to make a real difference for students and families right here in our community.

This wouldn't have been possible without the compassionate spirit of our Blue Devil family. A massive THANK YOU goes out to: 🥫Our generous students & staff for every single can donated. 🤝 Mrs. Slaven and Mrs. Sellars for giving us the opportunity to serve. 📋 The FBLA Advisors for your dedication in overseeing this project. 📢 The FBLA students for leading the charge and organizing the collection!

🌟 American Enterprise Day 2025 🌟
Students in our Business & Technology classes - including several FBLA members - had the opportunity to hear from two outstanding guest speakers this week!
💼 Jared Ross from South Georgia Banking Company
🌐 Rosalee Reeder from the Tifton-Tift County Tourism Association
These professionals shared valuable insights about business, ethics, and the importance of supply and demand in building strong local economies. Students also learned the significance of maintaining ethical relationships, building rapport, and fostering positive connections between businesses and customers.
We are incredibly grateful to both Mr. Ross and Mrs. Reeder for investing in our students and supporting future business leaders in Tift County. 💙💛

✨💐 Our Floral Design “Wedding” Was a Huge Success! 💍✨

Our Floral Design students wrapped up their semester-long wedding unit in the best way — by bringing an entire wedding to life! From planning a proposal to a bridal consultation to creating all the florals for the big day, they experienced the whole process from start to finish.

We loved collaborating with our outstanding CTAE programs to make it all come together:

🎂 Food Science crafted a gorgeous wedding cake & delicious hors d’oeuvres

💇‍♀️ Cosmetology styled stunning wedding hair

🔨 Ag Mechanics built the perfect backdrop

💐 Floral Design handled the bouquets, décor & all the floral magic

A huge thank you to Mrs. Dawson & Coach Dawson for being our picture-perfect bride and groom, and to Coach Earls for stepping in as our officiant!

Our students had a blast and gained hands-on, real-world experience they’ll never forget. Proud of our students and their creativity, teamwork, and talent! 💛🌿

Science in Motion! Mrs. Hathaway’s Physics class wrapped up our energy unit with an awesome Rollercoaster Project! 🤩

Students designed coasters featuring at least three changes in height (think loops and thrilling hills!). They then had to apply the Law of Conservation of Energy, solving mathematically for how Gravitational Potential Energy converted into Kinetic Energy.

It was a fantastic way to see the theoretical concepts come to life, proving that energy is neither created nor destroyed! Great work, future engineers! 👏

Tift CTI students had a great day of Georgia CTI Pre-ETS Training. Dr. Tonja Tift spent the morning teaching students how to manage stress, understand cause and effect, and recognize their personal triggers. They also explored high-demand careers in Georgia and across the nation, including Tech, Agriculture, Healthcare, Education, Entertainment, and Construction/Trade fields.
Also, we had the honor of having Tift County High alum, entrepreneur and business owner, and Tifton City Councilman M. Jay Hall, who shared his education and career journey. He encouraged students to work hard, set goals, and remember that opportunity is available to anyone willing to go after it.
We wrapped up the day with delicious chicken wings provided by Dr. Tift. Grateful for all the support and encouragement poured into our students today. #RaisingTheBar #CTAEDelivers #ChallengeTheImpossible #4theT #CTI
