🏛️2024 T.A.L:K! Capitol Trip🏛️ In March, our T.A.L:K! class took a visit to the Capitol and got to meet Senator Carden Sumners, Georgia State Representative Penny Houston, and Georgia State Representative Clay Pirkle. We got to learn about some of the procedures and processes that take place there as well as meet Director at the Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp Jody Redding. Our students also got some time to explore the Capitol on their own! We then made a stop at The Varsity for a bite to eat after all that learning. 🐇Our NEMS school parents sponsored and created the most special Easter Egg hunt for our teachers! Each teacher received an egg with a prize inside. It was so much fun to spread some Easter cheer and bring a smile to faces of our dedicated teachers. Yesterday, our amazing parents also provided baked potatoes for our Sunshine luncheon with BBQ from Wisham Jellies. 🪴Students in Ms. Reaves Basic Agriculture classes received hands-on learning experiences in shrub maintenance this week! Barry Spivey, owner of Southern Lawn Solutions, modeled and supervised students with trimming shrubs and dividing plants. #BeTheBestYOU #NEMS #4theT

Mrs. Gann, our Careers Teacher, led a session on choosing the right career path for our Distinguished Gentlemen's Club. She shared real life examples of local people who have made lucrative, enjoyable and successful careers by choosing career paths based on hobbies, passion and interests. In fact, some of the real life examples she used stated that they chose their career path when they were in middle school. Huge shout out to Mrs. Gann and Mrs. Johnson, Northeast Middle School Principal, for providing and allowing these young scholars life lessons and other phenomenal opportunities for academic and personal growth. #BeTheBestYOU #NEMS #4theT

An evacuation drill will be conducted at NEMS today, Wednesday 3/20/2024. This is only a drill to assist students & staff in maintaining safety & security–our #1 priority.
