Our 6th grade Agriculture students had a wonderful hands-on learning experience with https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/tift_county_schools_ar/live_feed_image/image/29326305/large_IMG_9024.jpglocal bee hobbyist Mr. Glenn McManus! 🐝
Mr. Glenn shared his passion for beekeeping and gave students a closer look at the tools and equipment he uses to care for his bees. Students also learned how products from the hive—like honey and beeswax—can be used to create items such as candles. 🕯️🍯
Our students discovered so much more about these incredible insects, including:
🌼 The important role bees play in pollination
🐝 The lifespan and life cycle of bees
🦠 Common pests that affect honeybees
🍯 Uses for bees beyond honey production
🔧 Tools and equipment used in beekeeping
A huge THANK YOU, Mr. Glenn, for taking the time to share your knowledge, experiences, and love for bees with our students! We are grateful for community members who help bring agriculture to life in our classroom! 💚💛
