Purpose Prep Program Social Emotional Learning for NEMS

The powerful SEL program is designed to create a safe and positive place for students to engage and express themselves within the classroom. Teachers will present lessons during class time to help students develop effective SEL skills through our weekly/daily lessons, they will learn to improve their communication and academic performance, which reduces feelings of stress and anxiety. As a result, decreasing behavior referrals and other issues and improving the culture and climate of the school. This leads to improved academic performance and overall academic success. The program works to strengthen the student’s life vision and peer bonds building safer and healthier school communities.

Week one: Lesson: September 4, 2020-September 8, 2020
Managing Stress and Emotions-This lesson will cover how to handle stress and reduce anxiety in stressful situations. It will discuss ways to cope with self-conflict and manage your emotions in difficult situations. The lesson will focus on the positive and negative effects of stress on our lives and ways to manage it effectively.
