HOSA is the student organization for Tift County Healthcare Science Students. Mrs. Lynn Blalock, Mrs. Dena Nelms, Mrs. Karla Mallard, and Ms. Tommie Sue Hyde are the Healthcare Science Instructors for Tift County Schools Healthcare Programs beginning at Eighth Street and continuing to NEC and the TCHS main campus. Tift County now offers pathway completion in Certified Nursing Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Sports Medicine, and General Medicine. HOSA, our student organization, is incorporated into the curriculum not only as an outlet for "FUN" activities, but for growth as a person and contributing member to society.
We collect canned goods/non-perishable items, clothing, and items we use every day in our activities of daily living such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, oral hygiene supplies, etc. We donate these items to Ruth's Cottage and Brother Charlie's, and they are so appreciative for the support and really seem to be thankful that someone cares. I believe it shows the student members just what a thin line there is between being self-sufficient and being thrown into an unwanted situation. It opens the HOSA members hearts and minds to others. I also believe it helps them to be better citizens.

Thank you to everyone contributing to help us make this project a success every year.
