FBLA State Competition

Members enjoyed several leadership sessions where they learned about the importance of communication for their future career and pointers on how to start their own business. They also attended an Opening General Session and the Awards Ceremony where they heard from the State FBLA Officers and the State Executive Director/Adviser, Monty Rhodes, who was recognized for his 10 years of service.
Members competed in performance events such as Business Ethics and Client Services and objective testing events such as Business Math, Computer Problem Solving, and Business Procedures just to name a few. “I am so proud of our students. They all showed class the entire time at the conference and worked hard on their events. We have a great group of kids,” said Marla Thompson TCHS FBLA Adviser.
The students had a great time and a wonderful experience in Atlanta. They got to meet many other FBLA members from chapters all around our state. The Tift County High School Chapter was recognized for receiving the Bronze Chapter of the Year Award and several members were recognized for achieving the “Future” and “Business” level in the Business Achievements Awards Program.
Students recognized for their achievements were: Hannah Barry, Imoni Smith – Conference All Stars; Janya Sims, Kevin Daniels, Meredith Shiver, and Travis Garrick – Future Award; Perrine Kemerait – Business Award
