Georgia Milestones

Tift County has determined its own policies and procedures for calculation of final course grades in EOC courses through the Summer Semester of 2015 (July 31, 2015).
It is important that students know that they WILL RECEIVE SCORES.  Individual score reports and electronic results (that will be loaded to your local system's Student Information System and the SLDS).  In short, their scores - once produced - will become part of their school/test record and history.
The test itself has NOT been "waived" for 2015-2016 . . . only its role as the final exam.
Students who attain a Grade Conversion Score below 70 on an EOC are allowed to participate in a retest administration for that particular EOC (following a period of targeted remediation as defined by the district).
Tift County's guidelines for retesting eligibility are
  • Students must participate in targeted remediation (10 hours required).
  • Targeted Remediation must be documented.

The Achievement Level Descriptors for the new Algebra I and Geometry EOC measures have been posted; the Achievement Level Descriptors for Coordinate Algebra and Analytic Geometry have been updated to reflect the Georgia Standards of Excellence that are used as the basis of instruction this school year.  You’ll note that we have kept the 2014-2015 Achievement Level Descriptors posted for those two courses, based on the CCGPS, for interpretative purposes.

Under Parent Resources, we have two new brochures designed to help parents understand the Individual Student Reports.  These resources are labeled ‘Parent’s Guide to EOG Score Report’ and ‘Parent’s Guide to EOC Score Report.’  Our thanks to Gwinnett County who created these brochures and allowed us to post for all.
